Cerritos
The learning wave, and the only beach on this stretch where swimming is the point. Sand bottom, forgiving whitewater inside, surf schools and rentals on the sand. It is also the most crowded lineup in the corridor. There is a lifeguard tower near the point by Barracudas, but it is not always staffed and posts no hours, so bring your own ocean sense. San Pedrito
A right-hand point over cobblestone at the north end of Pescadero, minutes from Cerritos and a different sport. Winter northwest swell is its season. La Pastora
The long right point north of town, at the end of the dirt coast road past Las Playitas. On the biggest winter days it is often the only organized wave in the corridor, which is exactly why it demands experience.
